KENNEBUNK — Have you considered foreign travel but felt overwhelmed by the planning? On March 6 at 6 p.m., join John and Kathleen Nolan at the Kennebunk Free Library for “You Can Travel Independently.” Being avid travelers themselves, the two will walk you through planning your next vacation abroad without being bound to a guided tour. They will discuss how to select, plan, and execute a trip abroad, including how to book flights, accommodations, car rentals, trip insurance, and other logistical problems you may encounter prior to travel.
Kathleen Nolan is a retired teacher who has traveled to Europe more than 50 times, the Arctic, Antarctic, South America, six countries in Africa, Nepal, Mongolia, China, and Tibet. John Nolan is a retired accountant who has also traveled extensively, though not as broadly as Kathleen.
This program is free and wheelchair accessible. The Kennebunk Free Library is located at 112 Main St. in Kennebunk. For more information, call 985-2173 or email at [email protected]
Comments are not available on this story. Read more about why we allow commenting on some stories and not on others.
We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
You can read more here about our commenting policy and terms of use. More information is also found on our FAQs.
