Sanford Police Detective Chad Allen was among the blood donors rolling up their sleeves for a good cause on Wednesday at a blood drive at Sanford City Hall. The drive was to show support for Sanford Assistant Fire Chief Steve Cutter, who  was diagnosed with brain cancer  last fall.  Organizers said blood drive appointments for the day were fully booked, and there were several walk-ins. The American Red Cross of Maine is always seeking blood donors. The next blood drive in Sanford is set for noon to 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25 at North Parish Congregational Church, 893 Main St.  The next area blood drive is noon to 5 p.m. at  Massabesic Medical Center, 813 Main St. (Route 202) in Waterboro  on Friday, Feb. 22 and there is a drive noon to 5 p.m.on  Feb. 26  at the YMCA, 3 Pomerleau St. in Biddeford.
