TOPSHAM – Mary Ann (Dockry) Harty, passed away peacefully at home with her loving husband of 61 years, Tom; sons, Thomas (Lia) and Patrick (Marcia); and daughter, Meghan (Bill) Costa, by her side. Mary Ann was born and raised in Green Bay, Wisc., daughter of Patrick and Genevieve (Doyle) Dockry. She was a graduate of Mount Mary University in Milwaukee, where she earned a degree in primary education. Her married years were spent in Milwaukee, Wisc., Chatham, N.J., Guilford, Conn., and Richmond, Va., prior to moving to Topsham in 2004.

The pleasure of living in a variety of places enhanced her enjoyment of life itself. She savored the outdoors – gardening, bee keeping, walking and time spent at the beach. When not outdoors, she devoted her time to music, knitting, cross stitching and other crafts. Yet Mary Ann’s love of family, teaching and children remained paramount. She continued to be involved with activities that satisfied her inner desire to help others while sharing her smile. Mary Ann is survived by her husband; sons; daughter; four grandchildren; brothers, Patrick (Rita), Michael (Eleanor), Dennis (Bonnie); and many cherished nieces and nephews.
