BATH – Mark Francis Perry, 66, died peacefully on Feb. 23, 2019, in Newark, Del. while on Seasons Hospice services. He was surrounded by friends and family at the time of his death.

He is survived by his daughter, Joni (Perry) Newby, son-in-law, Brian Newby, and granddaughters, Natalie Rose (10) and Guinevere Grace (6). He is further survived by his wife, Ann Perry, stepdaughter, Allie, stepson-in-law, Christian, and stepgrandchildren, Billy, Seth, Adam, and Mia. He is also survived by his mother, Geraldine Perry, brother, Kevin Perry, sisters, Kathy Seaver and Cindy Surdi, as well as a large extended family.

Mark was a dedicated Postmaster for the United States Postal Service. While he had retired in the mid-2000s, he continued to work part-time driving trucks and buses. Throughout his life he volunteered frequently. He served many years as a volunteer firefighter with Progress Fire Company Station 32 in Harrisburg, Pa. He also served as a liturgical volunteer with the Catholic Church and was a member of the choir. He was devoted to his faith and at one point in his life had considered becoming a priest. His daughter is grateful that he chose a different path.

Mark was a natural performer and lived life to have fun. Whether it was doing his Donald Duck impression, dancing the “worm” at family gatherings, or actually performing in theatrical productions like “Oliver” or “The King and I,” Mark was always the life of the party. He was also a HUGE fan of the Boston Red Sox, Patriots, and Celtics. The family encourages any who attend the funeral service to wear attire supporting Mark’s love for Disney or his sports teams and request that attendees avoid wearing black. Mark was a bright spirit and requested that everyone “Celebrate.” His family will miss his free-spirit and fun-loving nature. No doubt he is playing golf in Heaven with his father, Robert J. Perry and brother, Danny Perry.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 11 a.m. with a burial at Calvary Cemetery to follow.
