The Animal Welfare Society in Kennebunk is looking for a new home for Loki, a sensitive dog. SUBMITTED PHOTO

KENNEBUNK — Loki’s sweet, adorable face and his deep, sensitive eyes drew you in, didn’t they? That soulful look, so full of love Now he’s a staff fave  with the Animal Welfare Society in Kennebunk. Staff are hoping he soon finds new people to spoil him and love him.

Loki came to the Animal Welfare Society because his people couldn’t care for him any more. Now he’s patiently waiting for new people who have lots of time to spend with him. Since he’s been at AWS, Loki has proven to be a great snuggle buddy and enjoys extended cuddle sessions.

Not only is he a great movie watching companion, he’s very smart too. He knows sit, down, stay, come, shake, and leave it.

Loki has lived with two other dogs and he did well with them. He will try to steal all the attention and affection but he enjoys the company of other pups. He would like to limit his siblings to the four-legged ones, as children cause him to shake and hide. He would also do best in a home without small animals.

Loki will do best in a home that is quiet and low key. Because he is sensitive, he’s having a hard time adjusting to the Adoption Center where it is loud and chaotic at times, so we have him chilling in the back where it’s a bit quieter and he feels less stressed — he spends most of his days in the administration office chilling or taking part in meetings in the conference room. So, keep that in mind if you think your heart and home is a good match for Loki’s.

When you visit the Animal Welfare Society, please ask the Adoption Center staff to visit with him. They’ll be happy to bring him out for a meet and greet.
