BRUNSWICK – Marla Eve Bragdon, 66, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at her home in Brunswick, after a long courageous battle with cancer. Her family and close friends were by her side.

Marla was born on Sept. 11, 1952 in Biddeford, to Stewart C. and Marjorie E. (Peck) Bragdon.

In 1973 she graduated from Concord School of Nursing in Concord, N.H. On Sept. 22, 1973 she married Roger J. Duchesne. She worked as a nurse for 41 years and retired from Midcoast Hospital in Brunswick after 29 years of service there. She earned CNOR and CPAN certificates. She was known by colleagues as the “favorite”, very compassionate and loving.

Marla enjoyed traveling, reading, singing, the ocean, animals and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Marla is survived by her husband, James F. Crawford of Brunswick; her son, Christopher J. Duchesne and wife, Stephanie of Phippsburg, her daughter, Kelley L. Duchesne of Brunswick; mother, Marjorie B. Chase and husband, Phillip of Cumberland; sisters, Julie Leavitt of Portland and Melanie Rutstrom and husband, Dante of Blountville, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews and close friends.

Marla was predeceased by her father, Stewart Bragdon; sister, Lynne Delcourt; and two grandbabies, Chandler and Brady Duchesne.

Visiting hours will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 10, at Daigle Funeral Home, 819 High Street, Bath. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, at the North Woolwich Methodist Church in Woolwich. A gathering of family and friends will follow at the fellowship hall. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Westbrook at a later date.
