BIDDEFORD and SACO – Same great event, new fun time.

The Biddeford+Saco ArtWalk will kick off its 2019 season from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 18 in downtown Biddeford and Saco. The event features local art and craft displayed at downtown galleries, studios, institutions, nonprofits, and retail venues.

Now in its 12th year, the Biddeford+Saco ArtWalk is undergoing some changes, according to Engine director and event organizer Tammy Ackerman.

She said that reacting to community feedback, the event will take place four times this summer, from May to August, and is moving to Saturdays at a new time from 4 to 7 p.m.

“The new time and date will allow attendees more flexibility to plan their Saturdays,” Ackerman said. “They won’t have to get home from work to then turn around and go back out. ArtWalk is early enough that the event won’t conflict with other evening events. Our goal is that attendees will make an afternoon and evening out of it, coming for the artwalk and staying out downtown for dinner and drinks or a theater show or music.”

Participating venues are listed at biddefordsacoartwalk.com.

Biddeford+Saco Artwalk started in 2007. The event consists of various venues displaying unique works of art by local artists or groups each month. There is no fee to participate in the event as a venue or an attendee. The event is coordinated by Engine.
