PORTVILLE, N.Y. – Linda A. Steadman, loving wife, mother, sister and friend, of 979 Portville-Olean Road, N.Y. passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at Cuba Memorial Hospital, following an illness.

Linda was born on March 14, 1945 in Bath. She was the daughter of Franklin T. and Doris Ann Babine MacDonald. On June 14, 1993, at the Good News Chapel in Lewiston, she married her husband of  26 years, Richard R. Steadman, who survives her.

Linda attended Bath schools. She worked at BIW, Burgess Market, Coastal Transportation, BNAS Canteen and Chuck Wagon. She also sold Avon, Home Interior.

Linda and her husband moved to Portville, N.Y. in 2016. She enjoyed interior decorating, singing and listening to country music.Linda will be remembered as being a feisty and a spunky person.

Along with her loving husband, Linda is survived by four children in Maine: Ray Thomas, of Phippsburg, Randy Thomas of Lincoln, Peggy Crippen of Newport, and Tina Thomas of Bowdoin; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three siblings: Elaine Rice of Florida, Thomas MacDonald of Middleton, Mass. and Rosalyn Moody of New Haven, Conn.; and her long time closest friends, Jan and Ole; two stepchildren, Richard Steadman Jr. of Olean and Amy Miller of Portville, N.Y.; sisters-in-law, Peggy Heflin, Shirley Riehle, Barb Meyers, Carol Schutt and Gloria Seamon; a brother-in-law, Robert Steadman.

Linda was predeceased by her parents; and her brother, George MacDonald.
