Bath – Richard “Hacker” Holbrook, 61 of Richardson Street died Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

He was born in Brunswick on August 15, 1957, a son of Donald and Arvella Holbrook.

He attended Brunswick Schools.  Richard started his career at Bath Iron Works on his 19th birthday and was employed there for over 35 years.  He studied under Sensei Al Gardner for 23 years where he earned 5th degree black belt in Shotokan and also studied Jujitsu under Sensei Clayton Tucker of North Carolina where he earned San Dan 3rd degree. Rick was known for his Kata.  He was an expert mechanic and owned many motorcycles including his favorite Confederate Motorcycle (NBS) which he took to many shows and the Stoney Lobster Runs. He raised Pit Bulls in his younger years and one of his favorites was named “Chopper”.

He loved music, gardening, his friends and telling great stories.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing as a kid.  Rick was loyal, generous and strong; he stood true to his convictions.

He is survived by his brother, Jerry Holbrook of Brunswick his niece, Kim Holbrook of Brunswick, his sister, Nancy McCormick of TN, and many loyal and dear friends.
