On Saturday, Aug. 24 beginning at 11 a.m., Kennebec Estuary Land Trust’s Becky Kolak will be showcasing a simple recipe to make a brine to pickle a variety of vegetables.
Participants are invited to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy at the garden following the program. This program is geared toward all ages. There is a $5 suggested donation to cover the cost of materials.
This is a light rain or shine event. Due to limited capacity, registration is recommended by visiting kennebecestuary.org or by calling (207) 442-8400. The LOCAL Garden is located at the corner of High and Lemont streets in Bath.
This program is generously sponsored by the Merrymeeting Bay Trust and the Whole Kids Foundation.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
