Little Dresses for Africa

The blessing of the Little Dresses for Africa took place at a pre-taped service in the sanctuary at First Congregational Church of Gray on Jan. 7. The church sent out 25 dresses sewn by members and four others from another contributor. The dresses will allow some young girls to attend school in countries in Africa, Central and South America along with some being sent to communities in Appalachia in the U.S.

Community TV update

There is new life coming to Gray Community Television, Channel 2. New equipment has been purchased, installation scheduled and they look forward to providing more programs, services and information to the people of Gray soon both via GCTV and online streaming.

Blood drive

American Red Cross is hosting a blood drive from noon to 5 p.m. Feb. 12, at American Legion Post 86, 15 Lewiston Road.

Winter library during COVID

The Gray Public Library is still curbside pickup only. The library’s collection (plus materials requested via Minerva) is available. Request items to pick up through the online catalog (miva.maine.edu/search~S45), by emailing them directly at graylib@gray.lib.me.us or calling at 657-4110 ext. 0. Service hours remain the same.

Five winter-themed take-and-make craft kits are available. Valentine’s Day kits will be available soon, so keep your eye on your email or their website or Facebook page. Kits are suitable for ages 3 and up. Call 657-4110 or emailtgraylib@gray.lib.me.us and the library will have your craft kit ready for pickup.

Highway project

The Maine Department of Transportation is still interested in any information or concerns about the highway rehabilitation beginning at Route 26 and extending north 2.85 miles in Gray. Contact the project manager, Ernest Martin, at ernest.martin@maine.gov.
