Winifred (LeBlanc) Connary

OLD ORCHARD BEACH – Winifred (LeBlanc) Connary left this earth surrounded by her family on Feb. 3, 2021.Born in Hartford, Conn. on Oct. 14, 1929, Winnie was the daughter of Yvonne (Boucher) and Wilfred LeBlanc. Winnie grew up in West Hartford and graduated from Hartford High School. In 1955 she married Joseph Connary and they lived in New Hampshire and eventually Springfield, Vt. where she made her home for more than 40 years. An active community member, Winnie was involved with the Springfield Garden Club, Hospital Auxiliary Committee and the Springfield Community Players.Winnie moved to Old Orchard Beach 14 years ago and amassed a number of friends in the Birch Hill neighborhood. She was an avid reader who loved her volunteer work with the Libby Library in Old Orchard Beach and was a communicant of St. Margaret’s Church.She leaves her two children, Robert and his wife Karen of Buxton and Susan and her husband Tom Napolitano of Upton, Mass.; as well as grandchildren Ryan Connary and Allyson Connary Kallas, Joseph Napolitano and Jillian Napolitano; and great-grandchildren, Shea Connary, Lucille Connary and Evie Kallas. Winnie was predeceased by her parents; two brothers, Raymond and Robert, and her husband who died in 1993.Winnie’s family deeply appreciates the love and care she received from all of the staff at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House.A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday Feb. 6 at 11 a.m. at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church, Saco Ave. in Old Orchard Beach. A period of visitation will be held at the church prior to the Mass from 10-10:30 a.m. Burial will be at a later date in Vermont.
