Frank Herbert Goodwin

PEWAUKEE, Wis. – Frank Herbert Goodwin, of Pewaukee, Wis., was called home at the age of 73 to be with his Lord and Savior on Jan. 30, 2021 after a valiant two-month battle with COVID-19.

Frank was born in Biddeford, Maine, on Sept. 20, 1947. He spent his childhood growing up in Saco and spent many days with family in Biddeford Pool and at his beloved family cabin on Swan Pond. He graduated from Thornton Academy (’65) and Monmouth College in Illinois (’69). He went on to complete his Masters of Education from Illinois State University.

Frank was a loving husband, father and Papa. He loved baseball and was a beautiful singer, motivational speaker and avid fisherman. Without question, his favorite place to spend time and fish was Swan Pond. It was there that he taught his children and grandchildren how to bait a hook, look for the best fishing spots and to have patience when waiting for the fish to “grab the line.” He especially loved evening trips in the old motorboat with his special fishing buddy, Abbey. Fishing was more than his hobby, it was his passion and his peace, and the legacy he leaves behind for all those that loved and adored him.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Rita (Jensen) Goodwin; his children Amy (Bob) Bickett, Ben (Hillary) Hays, Rebekah Hays, Amanda (Michael) Braisted, Ashley (Tommy) Sutton and Abbey Goodwin; and nine grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Guy and Gladys Goodwin; and his grandson, Zac Bickett.

A private Celebration of Life service will be held Sunday, March 28, at 3:00 p.m. and can be attended virtually at https://boxcast.tv/view/frank-celebration-of-life-190334 .
