SCARBOROUGH – Betsy Wooster Robson, 86, died Feb. 2, 2021 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House. She was born in Marblehead, Mass., the daughter of Ralph E. Wooster and Doris H. (Humphrey) Wooster. She moved with her family to Maine when she was young and spent most of her life here (always near the ocean).

She grew up in Camden, graduating from Camden High School in 1951 and attended Farmington Teachers College. She married Robert J. Robson in Camden in June of 1954 and moved to both Massachusetts and Connecticut prior to returning to Maine with her young family; living briefly in Windham and then establishing a home in Yarmouth where she lived for almost 60 years. In the late ’60s, she completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Maine and began substitute teaching in Yarmouth; ultimately becoming a teacher at the William H. Rowe School where she taught for five years.

She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and great-grandmother with a strong affinity for animals.

She is survived by her husband of almost 67 years, Robert Joseph Robson of Yarmouth; a son, Mark Owen Robson and his wife Sandra of Hampden, a daughter Lisa Robson Kinsman and her husband Daniel Simpson of Yarmouth, a son Joseph E. Robson and his wife Susanne of Holden, a sister Thelma Tevanian of Westbrook; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; as well as nieces and nephews.

At her request, there will be no funeral service. A private celebration of her life will be held by the family in the Summer of 2021.
