WELLS — Old Orchard Beach buried eight 3-pointers and went 11 for 11 from the free-throw line Thursday night in a 53-42 girls’ basketball win over Wells.

Shani Plante finished with 16 points for OOB, including nine free throws. Summer St. Louis and Elise MacNair each pitched in with 13 points as the Seagulls (4-1) bounced back from their first loss of the season on Tuesday against Wells (3-1).

Grace Ramsdell led Wells with 21 points. Mallory Aromando added 10.

PORTLAND 43, FALMOUTH 31: Gemima Motema scored 21 points, and the Bulldogs (4-1) gradually pulled away from visiting Falmouth (0-4).

Portland ended the first half with a 10-2 run, capped by a long Motema jumper at the horn, to open a 22-14 advantage.

Falmouth never got closer than seven points in the second half.

The Yachtsmen were led by Sloane Ginevan with 13 points, and Maddy Christman with seven points and 12 rebounds.

CHEVERUS 53, DEERING 29: Maddie Fitzpatrick scored 19 points and Emma Lizotte added 10 as the visiting Stags (5-1) defeated the Rams (1-4).

Ella McGowan led Deering with 11 points.

MASSABESIC 71, SANFORD 41: Satyra Duong scored 17 points and Marissa Holt added 12, leading the Mustangs (3-0) past the Spartans (2-3) in Sanford.

Mary Duffy and Hannah Samson each contributed nine points.

Sanford’s Riley Hebler scored 16 points.

BOOTHBAY 46, MONMOUTH ACADEMY 41: Jaclyn Crocker finished with 20 points while Glory Blethen added 15 to lead the Seahawks (4-4) past the Mustangs (1-4) in Boothbay Harbor.

Holly Hunt and Emma Johnson paced Monmouth with 13 and 12 points.

NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 47, MORSE 24: Erin Reid scored 12 of her 18 points in the first half as the Panthers (5-0) built a 31-7 advantage and cruised past the Shipbuilders (1-5) in Yarmouth.

Reid also pulled down 14 rebounds. Angel Huntsman added 14 points, five assists and three steals.

LAKE REGION 51, POLAND 33: Shawna Hancock led the Lakers (2-3) with 17 points in a win over the Knights (1-4) in Poland.

Shelby Sheldrick added 14 points.

MARSHWOOD 53, NOBLE 26: All 13 players scored for the Hawks (2-0), led by Shelby Anderson with eight points, in a win over the Knights (0-4) at South Berwick.

KENNEBUNK 73, BIDDEFORD 65: Four players scored in double figures for the Rams (3-0) in a win over visiting Biddeford (2-4).

Ty Kane and Adam Lux each had 16 points, Aaron Waitt scored 13 and Connor Keefe chipped in with 10.

Biddeford’s Will Harriman scored 20 points. Alex McAlevey had 14.

YARMOUTH 43, FREEPORT 26: Peter Psyhogeos dropped in 14 points to lead the Clippers (4-1) past the Falcons (2-3) in Yarmouth.

Cole Snyder added 10 points, and Matt Waeldner scored nine.

Colby Arsenault and Blaine Cockburn tossed in 11 and 10 points, respectively, for Freeport.

WAYNFLETE 48, BERWICK ACADEMY 43: Chris Saade scored 16 points to lead the Flyers (4-1) past the Bulldogs in Portland.

Jared Johnson chipped in with 10 and Aidan Kieffer added eight.

GIRLS’ HOCKEY

CAPE ELIZABETH 5, PORTLAND 1: Koto Yamada notched a pair of first-period goals, and Bella Schifano finished with two goals and two assists as Cape Elizabeth/Waynflete/South Portland (5-0) defeated Portland/Deering (3-3) at Troubh Ice Arena.

Abby Dresser also scored for the Capers.

Caroline Lerch put Portland/Deering on the board with a power-play goal in the third period, assisted by Mia Merrill.
