Craig Richard Printy

BUXTON – Craig Richard Printy, 53, formerly of Plymouth, Mich., passed away on Feb. 19, 2021 after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Throughout it all, his force remained on his faith in Jesus and his family.

Craig was born in Chicago, Ill., moving to Plymouth, Mich. when he was 8 years old. The son of Richard Printy and Carolin Christie Printy, he was a graduate of Plymouth Christian Academy in Canton, Mich. He furthered his education attending Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, N.Y. where he studied engineering. He moved to Maine shortly after graduation, working first at National Semiconductor and then Texas Instruments. Craig was an accomplished engineer and excelled in his career, taking tremendous pride in his work. His love of problem solving, and his sharp mind earned him respect in his field and multiple patents. But above it all was his love of family.

Craig met his wife and best friend, Jen, shortly after moving to Maine. They were happily married for 28 years. He took great pride and pleasure in being a father, attending his daughters’ many school functions, dance recitals, and karate tournaments. Soon after, Craig gave up his cheerleading seat on the sidelines, and he became a student at the Greater Portland School of Jukado himself, training alongside his daughters. Despite his cancer diagnosed, he went on to earn his black belt, an accomplishment he was extremely proud of.

Craig loved watching sci-fi anything, sharing a scotch with family and friends, and riding his motorcycle. He always had a great knack for bringing a laugh to the room and, with his dry wit, he never missed an opportunity to crack a joke. Craig’s selfless and kind nature will be vividly remembered.

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer (Howell) Printy of Buxton; daughter, Elizabeth Printy of Buxton, daughter, Nicole Printy of Buxton; his parents Richard and Carolin Printy of Canton, Mich.; mother-in-law Barbara Howell of Portland; brother, Mark Printy and his wife Michelle of Canton, Mich., brother, William Printy and his partner Carmen Jones of Wayne, Mich.; and all his beloved aunts and uncles, cousins, and nieces and nephews.

Craig was predeceased by his father-in-law, Vernon Howell.
