John Lewis Bouchard

SOUTH PORTLAND – John Lewis Bouchard, 81, passed away unexpectedly at his home in South Portland on Feb. 13, 2021. John was born on Oct. 3, 1939 to parents Leroy Bouchard and Edith Seibert in Nyack, N.Y.

John joined the United States Navy as a Seabee and was stationed at Okinawa, Greece, Guam, Diego Garcia, San Diego and Brunswick. He served three tours of duty in Vietnam, attained equipment operator chief rank, and retired after 21 years of service. Then, John worked and retired from the Town of Falmouth, Maine, Public Works, as the street superintendent.

John is predeceased by his parents, Leroy and Edith Bouchard; sister, Sharon; and nephew, Daniel.

John is survived by his loving wife, Janet; daughter, Bobbi-Ann; grandson, Joshua; loving sister, Lillian; brothers-in-law Fred and Bob; nieces, Nicole, Christine, and Shawna, nephews, John, Michael, and Douglas; and many great-nieces and nephews; cousins; and friends.

John was a kind, sweet, and loving man who was known for his hard work, funny antics, and gracious smile. John will be dearly missed and eternally loved.
