Linda Ann Blugerman

SOUTH PORTLAND – Linda Ann Blugerman, 83, of South Portland passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House following a brief illness, her loving family was by her side.

Linda was born in Kankakee, Ill. on June 23, 1937, the daughter of the late Leland E. and Dorothea M.W. (Michels) Sprimont. She attended local schools and graduated from Kankakee High School. She continued her education at Lake Forest College and National College of Education earning her teaching degree in 1959.

On June 11, 1960, Linda married the love of her life, Richard L. Blugerman in Kankakee, Ill.

Following her marriage, Richard and Linda moved to Philadelphia where she taught until 1961 when they began their family. She returned to teaching preschool and taught for over 25 years. After returning to Maine she worked in catering at the Picnic Hamper in Yarmouth. Linda will be remembered as a kind and gentle soul who loved her family and friends. She was quick to laugh and her home was always a warm and welcoming place.

Linda was predeceased by her husband, Richard L. Blugerman in 2001; and a son, Douglas Lee Blugerman in 1962.

She is survived by three daughters, Elizabeth Blugerman and her husband, Tommy Karnofsky of Bar Harbor, Debby Amezcua of NYC, and Polly and her husband, Patrick Keniston of Cape Elizabeth, a son, David Blugerman of South Portland; a brother, Lee and his wife, Connie Sprimont of Florida; eight beloved grandchildren, David, Marina, Mateo, Camille, Emma, Matthew, Sarah, and Lucy.
