ORLANDO, Fla. — Aaron Holiday scored 20 points, Domantas Sabonis had 16 points, 15 rebounds and six assists in his return from a three-game injury absence, and the Indiana Pacers held off the Orlando Magic 111-106 on Friday night.

Holiday made six of Indiana’s 11 3-pointers, two nights after scoring a season-best 22 points in a victory over Minnesota. Sabonis returned from a sprained left ankle.

Doug McDermott made 8 of 13 shots and added 19 points off the bench for Indiana. The Pacers improved to 15-12 on the road and 20-6 when leading after three quarters.

After seeing a lead once as large as 15 points shrink to three in the third quarter, the Pacers opened the fourth quarter with a 16-6 run to push the advantage back to 10.

Orlando guard Terrence Ross sent a scare into the Pacers by scoring 10 of his 24 points in the fourth quarter.

Ross converted two thunderous dunks seconds apart in the final quarter to draw the Magic to 108-104. After Malcom Brogdon’s free throw pushed Indiana’s lead back to five, James Ennis III made two free throws to get the Magic to 109-106 with 14.9 seconds remaining. T.J. McConnell sealed it with two free throws with 8.7 seconds remaining.

HAWKS 120, BULLS 108: Trae Young scored 42 points, Clint Capela had 22 points and 10 rebounds, and Atlanta overcame a sizzling performance by Zach LaVine to beat visiting Chicago.

LaVine scored 39 of his career-high 50 points in the first half, and Nikola Vucevic had 25 points and 10 rebounds, but the Bulls’ three-game winning streak was snapped.

KNICKS 133, GRIZZLIES 129: RJ Barrett scored 20 points, making a tiebreaking 3-pointer with 1:15 left in overtime, and New York used a late rally to stun visiting Memphis.

The Knicks were down double digits for much of the night and still trailed by 13 points midway through the fourth quarter, but put it together just in time to avoid a third straight loss and end the Grizzlies’ four-game winning streak.

PELICANS 101, 76ERS 94: Zion Williamson scored 14 of his 37 points in the fourth quarter and New Orleans held off visiting Philadelphia.

Williamson was 15 of 28 from the field and added 15 rebounds and eight assists.

NOTES

BUCKS: Milwaukee was without all five of its usual starters Friday night against the Charlotte Hornets.

Reigning two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo sat out his fourth straight game because of a sore left knee. He missed his sixth game in the last 11.

Jrue Holiday (bruised left knee), Donte DiVincenzo (bruised right hip), Brook Lopez (sore back), Khris Middleton (sore right knee) and reserve forward P.J. Tucker (strained left calf) also were declared out.

HEAT: Victor Oladipo will not be with the Heat when they depart Saturday for a four-game West Coast trip, and more evaluation will be required before the team knows the full extent of his right-knee issue.

Oladipo hurt the knee during the fourth quarter of Miami’s win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday night. He had 18 points in 25 minutes, and appeared to do something to the knee on a dunk with 5:51 remaining.

CLIPPERS: Patrick Beverley is likely to miss the rest of the regular season after breaking his left hand during Thursday’s game against the Phoenix Suns.

The Clippers announced before Friday’s game against the Houston Rockets that Beverley had surgery and will be evaluated again in three to four weeks. The NBA playoffs start on May 22.
