Joanne St. Amand

BIDDEFORD – Joanne St. Amand, 81, of Biddeford, passed away on April 5, 2021. She was born in Biddeford on March 31, 1940, the only child of William and Gabrielle (Lacroix) Brackett and was educated in Biddeford Schools.

She was employed at Morningstar, Brooks Drugstore, Kennedy School and lastly at Pratt Whitney retiring in 1992.

Joanne loved walking, dancing, bowling, stamping, playing Bingo, as well as playing Solitaire -which she always won!

She won a trip of a lifetime, an all-expense paid trip to Disney World, by donating to United Way while at Pratt & Whitney, which she took her husband, Joel, her mother and her Aunt Rita Bilodeau – both her mother and aunt had never flown before. During the Disney trip, while visiting the Living Seas which was sponsored by UTC/Pratt & Whitney, she was the 100,000 guest which gave her a cruise to Bermuda!

Joanne inherited her great baking skills from her mother, Gabrielle. She especially enjoyed baking pineapple muffins almost every Sunday. Joanne also donated her mother’s recipes to the Pratt-Whitney North Berwick Aircraft Club Recipe Book.

She had a “Joie De Vie!” Translation- Joy of Life!

She was predeceased by her oldest grandchild, Nicholas P. Boucouvalas, and the second love of her life, Milton “Mike” Defayette.

She is survived by her first love, Joel St. Amand, her first husband of 40 years; her children, Lorina (Lori) Boucouvalas and her husband Everett (her favorite son-in-law), Rick St. Amand, John St. Amand, Bruce (Buck) St. Amand and his wife Karen, Timothy St. Amand and his wife Lita.
