PORTLAND – Sandra D. Jackson, 79, lifelong resident of Berwick Street in Portland, passed away on April 14, 2021, at Mercy Hospital following a brief illness. She was born in Portland, a daughter of James H. and Georgia M. (Bridges) Martin.

Sandie graduated from Portland High School in 1959. She worked at Peerless Insurance in Falmouth and later worked at Intermed in the Yarmouth and South Portland offices. She most recently worked at Dollar Tree in Portland.

She was a lifelong communicant of St. Pius X Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister and volunteered for many events.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Edward M. Leighton in 1986, her second husband, Loomis Jackson; a daughter, Laurie Boody in 1998.

She is survived by a son, Shawn E. Leighton and his spouse, Carmen. She is also survived by three grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

A visiting hour will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 21 at Jones, Rich and Barnes Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St. Portland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Pius X Church, 492 Ocean Ave., Portland. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in South Portland.
