Charles Constantine Mastroluca

PORTLAND – Charles Constantine Mastroluca, 85, of Portland, died, surrounded by family on April 11, 2021, following a brief illness.

Charlie was born in Portland on Feb. 16, 1936, to Alice Poitras and Antonio Mastroluca. He graduated from Portland High School in 1955 before joining the Navy and serving four years in Europe on the USS Wasp as a petty officer first class electrician.

He returned to Portland, where he opened a business as an electrical contractor and married Dolores Monterio, raising three children and two stepdaughters in Falmouth.

He entered semi-retirement at the age of 40 to pursue personal interests and spend more time with family. Charlie enjoyed living a quiet and slow-paced life. He had a passion for cooking, growing food, and living a healthy lifestyle. His interests included hiking, walking on the beach, boating, skiing and travel. He was greatly loved by his children who were inspired by his philosophy of living simply, self-sufficiently and treating others with kindness and acceptance.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Janet Berry.

He is survived by his former wife, Dolores Monterio; children, Gina Mastroluca (Eric Heintz), Anthony Mastroluca (Tammy DeAndrea) and Katrina Mastroluca; stepdaughters Beth-ann Monterio and Susan Dougherty (Kevin Brady); sisters Theresa Bellemare, Madeline Carroll (Daniel Carroll) and Donna Loring (Jack Loring), brother, Roland Mastroluca; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
