Julia Emily Marston

SACO – Julia Emily Marston, 72, of Glen Haven Circle, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2021 at her home overlooking the family’s marina. She was born in Biddeford on Oct. 15, 1948, the daughter of Arthur Roy and Esther Francis (Knight) Willey.

She was raised on a dairy farm off of Portland Road in Saco, and grew up with two brothers, Thomas and Steven, and one sister, Susan. She was a proud graduate of Thornton Academy class of ’66, the Good Shepherd School of Nursing, Boston (LPN) class of ‘68 S and Southern Maine Technical College, Portland (RN) ’92.

On April 5, 1969 she married Gary Marston and they celebrated 52 years together. Julia worded as a registered nurse at Southern Maine Medical Center (former Webber hospital) most of her life. She also served as a paramedic for Westbrook Fire Rescue and Old Orchard Beach Rescue. In later years, she worked as a nursing counselor at Women to Women in Portland before her retirement.

Julia was a member of First Parish Congregational Church, and served as Deacon, and participated in Woman’s Fellowship. Julia loved spending quality time with her grandchildren, gardening, watching the birds outside her picture window. ,Julia is known for her warm smile and loving caring nature. Julia has left a lasting impression on everyone she met and she spread love and light wherever she went.

She is survived by her husband, Gary Marston; her son, Jeffrey Adam Marston and his wife Alexandra and their children Halle, Lexa, Ariana, and Elle of Indiana; daughters Heather and her children Shawn, Travis, Natalie; and Jill Chasse and her husband Mike and their children Sophia, Samuel; her brothers Thomas Willey and his wife Anna of Saco and Steven Willey and his wife Mary-Jane of Florida, and sister-in-law, Susan Marston and her husband Alan ‘Gary’s brother’ of Saco; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews who adored her.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

Dennett, Craig and Pate Funeral Home, Saco is entrusted with her arrangements.
