Auction for great causes

Raymond Parent Teacher Organization is having a silent auction to help support events, special teacher requests, scholarships for graduating students and field trips for students at Jordan Small Middle School and Raymond Elementary School. The PTO provides funding to teachers to help offset the cost of these events and to help support the curriculum they are teaching. Bidding on the silent auction items will begin May 17. You can like and follow the Facebook page at facebook.com/raymondmepto and look for the auction under “Events.”

More item donations are needed, such as gift cards, experiences, items for themed baskets,  crafts and handmade items. Get creative and let the PTO know what you can offer the auction. If you don’t have anything to offer but you want to help, email the team at [email protected] for more information. If you are interested in serving on the board or have questions about serving,  email [email protected]

Making a splash

For many years now, Raymond residents have looked forward to the announcement about swim lessons at the lakefront in July. Keep your eyes open and your calendars ready. On the Raymond Rec calendar, there’s a Level 4 & 5 (Advanced) nine-day class focusing on stroke refinement beginning July 5. Online, it appears that enrollment dates will begin Friday, May 5, and end June 18.  The program registration fee is $50 for residents and $55 for non-residents.
