PHILADELPHIA — Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid and Tobias Harris each scored 18 points to lead the Philadelphia 76ers to a 126-104 victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Friday night.
Dwight Howard had 19 points and 11 rebounds for the 76ers, who routed the Hawks for the second straight game. Philadelphia is a half-game behind Brooklyn in the race for the top seed in the East.
Trae Young scored 32 points in his return after a four-game absence because of an ankle injury, and Clint Capela had 11 points and 15 rebounds for Atlanta. The Hawks stayed in fifth place in the East.
TRAIL BLAZERS 128, NETS 109: Damian Lillard had 32 points, nine assists and seven rebounds, and Portland won in New York.
Lillard scored 22 points in the second half as the Blazers broke away late in the third quarter to snap the Nets’ four-game winning streak.
CAVALIERS 122, WIZARDS 93: Russell Westbrook posted his 31st triple-double of the season with 15 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists, and Washington continued its postseason push with a rout at Cleveland.
It was Westbrook’s 177th career triple-double, moving him within four of Oscar Robertson’s NBA record.
GRIZZLIES 92, MAGIC 75: Dillon Brooks scored 20 points, Jonas Valanciunas added 14 points and 15 rebounds, and Memphis beat visiting Orlando.
NOTES
NUGGETS: Denver extended its contract for guard Austin Rivers through the rest of the season.
Rivers has averaged 6.2 points, two assists and 1.2 steals since signing a 10-day contract on April 20. He is helping fill the void left by Jamal Murray, who is out for the season after tearing the ACL in his left knee on April 12.
BUCKS: Milwaukee star Giannis Antetokounmpo missed Friday’s game against the Chicago Bulls because of a sprained right ankle.
Antetokounmpo exited Thursday’s loss to Houston in the opening minute. The two-time MVP rolled his already-hurt ankle when he appeared to step on the foot of Kelly Olynyk while driving for a layup.
