Will Best, Yarmouth tennis: A sophomore playing No. 2 singles, Best twice won in straight sets as the Clippers (5-0) shut out Freeport on Thursday and defeated Cape Elizabeth 4-1 on Friday. Of the 12 teams in Class B South, only Yarmouth is unbeaten.

Caden Fontaine, Sanford baseball: The sophomore was instrumental in two 4-3 wins against Massabesic on Saturday. Fontaine had a walk-off RBI single to cap a three-run seventh-inning rally in the first game, then had two RBI and scored the winning run in the seventh inning of the second game.

Aidan Martin, York track: The senior set personal bests while winning the javelin (175 feet, 7 inches) and discus (130-9) in a meet against Traip Academy, Wells and Old Orchard Beach. His javelin mark is the best in the state this year.

Ben Tukey, Gorham lacrosse: A senior attack, Tukey had five goals and two assists on Tuesday in a 16-6 win at Portland and then led the Rams to a 10-4 win against Portland on Saturday with three more goals. Gorham is 6-0.

Zoe Barnes, Gray-New Gloucester track: The senior won the discus and shot put at the Husky Throwdown in Pittsfield and set a school record in the discus – 124 feet, 1 inch.

Anna Cornell, Cape Elizabeth softball: The senior pitcher had a big week to help the Capers improve to 6-0. She pitched a one-hitter with 11 strikeouts in a 12-0 win over Mt. Ararat, then followed with another one-hitter, along with 13 strikeouts, in an 8-0 win over Morse.

Charlotte Donovan, Biddeford softball: The sophomore had a doubleheader to remember on Saturday in a sweep of Bonny Eagle. She pitched a no-hitter in the first game, a 14-0 victory, then went 5 for 5 with three home runs and 10 RBI in the second game, a 25-5 victory for the unbeaten Tigers.

Ella Perham, Brunswick tennis: The senior won 6-3, 6-2 at No. 3 singles to help the Dragons beat two-time defending Class B state champion Lincoln Academy 3-2 on Thursday. Perham has not dropped a set this spring for Brunswick, the only unbeaten team in Class A North.
