Judy A. Rodenbeck

SACO – Judy A. (Nicholson) Rodenbeck, 79, of Saco, died unexpectedly on May 10, 2021, at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

She was born in Portland, daughter of Bernard Nicholson and Winifred (Fields) Edwards, and attended school in South Portland and Gorham, where she was class of 1960.

Judy was a devoted wife and mother, adoring grandmother, and endlessly creative in all aspects of her life. She made friends effortlessly and was “Aunt Judy” to dozens of young people over the years. She was never happier than watching the people she loved enjoy her wonderful cooking, or tinkering in her garden and watching the birds.

Surviving are her husband of 37 years, Eric Rodenbeck; children, Robert B. Rudy and his wife Erin of Kennebunk, Dan R. Rudy and his wife Linda of Lisbon Falls, Kippy Rudy of Boston, and Stephanie Ross of Glendale, Ariz.; grandchildren, Robyn Ryder, Nathan Rudy, Brian Robertson, Kevin Robertson, Marina Mozak, and Arden Mozak; bonus grandchildren Kaitlyn Brayley, Brenden Stitt and Ryan Martin; four great-grandchildren; siblings Sandra Embrey, Linda Ferrante and Faye Jones.

She was predeceased by her siblings Sharon Smith and Glynn Nicholson.

Visiting hours will be Monday, May 17 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Hobbs Funeral Home in South Portland. The family will be sharing remembrances at 4 p.m. Due to current health concerns, State of Maine protocols will be followed.
