Robert W. Campbell 89, of Kennebunkport, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2021. He was born on March 22, 1932, in Biddeford, to Ruth Leach and Robert Campbell, Sr.

Robert was a lifetime carpenter who worked on many local homes. He also worked for years for The New England Homes Co. He volunteered his time and talents for his family, his friends and for the community. He loved digging clams, tending his vegetable garden, painting, drawing, sketching, and puttering in his basement workshop while whistling and singing. He loved music, horse racing and country fairs – a true Mainer.

He is predeceased by his wife, Dorothy Strickland Campbell. He is survived by his sisters, Margaret Provencher of Kennebunk and Ernestine (Tina) Allen and her husband Larry (Flash) Allen of Portland. Also surviving are his nine children, Brenda Rizzo of Kennebunkport, Colleen Campbell of Kennebunk, Joseph Campbell of Stuart, Florida, Robert (Scott) Campbell and wife Kathy of Kennebunkport, James Campbell and wife Nancy of Jensen Beach, Florida, Cindy Novakowski and partner Bob Dion of Arundel, Mary Stinson and husband Scot of North Berwick, Guy Campbell and wife Teresa of The Villages, Florida, Casey Campbell and wife Terri of Kennebunkport; Grandchildren Charles Rizzo, Michael Rizzo, Joseph Rizzo, Alfred Jackson, Ericka Flynn, Tari Mari Campbell, William (Matt) Campbell, Kristina Garrison, Michel Campbell, Sarah Cleek, Theresa Campbell, Michael Novakowski, Rachael Wheeler, David Stinson, Ryan Stinson, Kyle Campbell, Diana Krebs, Christopher Campbell, Brian Campbell, Skye Beard, Carter Campbell, Danielle Sichterman, Alexis Campbell; 25 great-grandchildren – a clan of 57.

A graveside service will be held at the Arundel Cemetery in Kennebunkport on Friday, May 21, 2 p.m. with the Rev. Tara Olsen Allen officiating. Family and Friends welcome. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to The Good Shepherd Food Bank of Maine, P.O. Box 1807, Auburn, ME 04211.
