The city is seeking a company interested in running a bike-share program in Portland, with a desired launch date of June 2022.

It is seeking proposals from those qualified to provide a program design and marketing, operation and maintenance for the program.

Goals for the bike-share program, according to the city, include promoting bicycling as a safe and sustainable mode of transportation. Both non-electric and electric-assist bicycles would be included and would be available on demand 24 hours a day and seven days a week.

Proposals are due by 3 p.m. June 16. Copies of the requests for proposals are available by emailing at ccleveland@portlandmaine.gov or calling 874-8654.
