POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – Barbara Balcom Cappuccio, 76, died on May 27, 2021 in Pompano Beach, Fla.

Barbara graduated from Deering High School and the Mercy Hospital School of Xray Technology. Upon graduation Barbara moved to Boston and worked at both New England Baptist Hospital and Deaconess Hospital.

Barbara met Frank Cappuccio in Boston and they married in 1971. By 2000, Barbara and Frank tired of the winters in Boston and moved to Pompano Beach, Fla. Barbara loved the Florida weather, doing crossword puzzles, Stephen King novels, and cats.

Barbara was a proud graduate of the class of 1963 at Deering High School and never missed a reunion.

Barbara was predeceased by her parents Julia and Arthur Balcom; a brother, Arthur Balcom Jr.; and her husband, Frank, who died in 2002.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Paula Balcom of Windham; a cousin, Rocco Frenzilli of Portland; her friend, William Coleman, of Pompano Beach, Fla., and her close friend, Cathy Kochian Bullard, of Minneapolis. Barbara and Cathy met in the 6th grade at Longfellow Elementary School.

At Barbara’s request there will be no funeral or memorial service.
