Jacklyn Marie McDonough

YARMOUTH – Jacklyn Marie McDonough, 78, of Yarmouth, passed away on Sept. 11, 2021.

She is survived by her husband, Edward, of 52 years; her children Shawn (wife Julie) and Ryan; her two grandsons, William and Jack; along with her brother, John Bernard and sisters Maryse O’Brien and Jane Gardner.

Born and raised in Rumford, to parents John and Van Bernard. Jackie attended Rumford High School and University of Maine. She worked for many years as a teacher and guidance counselor for the Cape Elizabeth, Brunswick, and Portland school systems. She enjoyed years of playing and refereeing field hockey at the high school and college level. Jackie was inducted into the Maine Field Hockey Association Hall of Fame in 2009.

One of Jackie’s greatest passions was spending time with her family and close friends. She adored her grandchildren, Will and Jack, who she often visited with in Massachusetts.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 22 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Hobbs Funeral Home, 230 Cottage Road in South Portland. A burial service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 23 at 11 a.m. at the Old Calvary Cemetery, 1461 Broadway in South Portland.
