Peter Andrew Rampulla

OLD ORCHARD BEACH – Peter Rampulla, 75, of Old Orchard, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones, on Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2021, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House.

He was born in Haverhill, Mass. on Dec. 7, 1945, the son of the late Andrew Rampulla and Bessie (Pepe) Rampulla.

Peter was a graduate of Saint James Central High School class of 1963. Following high school graduation, he went on to obtain a bachelor of business administration degree at Merrimack College. After receiving his bachelor’s degree, Peter started his 34-year career at Western Electric Co., formally AT&T Bell Labs and Lucent Technologies, as a cost account clerk in 1966. He was then promoted to section chief of accounts payable in 1973 and advanced to financial specialist manager. Peter retired from Lucent Technologies in 2000.

He was a member of the St. Margaret Catholic Church and former parishioner of All Saints Parish, Haverhill, Mass. Peter participated in many leagues and organizations such as, The Sons of Italy, Knights of Columbus, Acorn Village Association Treasurer (2007-2021), Saint Joseph Baseball Little League coach and president, Garibaldi Italian Club member. Most notably, Pete was a long-time member and Pentucket Kiwanis president, where he was honored with receiving the prestigious B’nai B’rith International Award.

A lifelong New England sports fan, he was an avid golfer, where he played in numerous golf leagues. He also enjoyed bowling and softball over the years. Pete had a zest for life, and you could always count on him being the life of any social gathering, armed with his sharp wit and boisterous sense of humor. He also adored spending the winter months in Naples, Fla., playing golf and going to the beach.

Peter is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Patricia (Villaire) Rampulla’ his two children Stephen Rampulla and his wife Deborah of Saint Johns, Fla. and Mark Rampulla and his wife Erin of Haverhill, Mass. He was a loving “Grampy” to Nicholas and Brenna and “Gi” to Bree and Shaye. He leaves behind his uncle John and aunt Jean Rampulla; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Sept. 24 in All Saints Parish, 120 Bellevue Ave., Haverhill, Mass. at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill, Mass.
