LEBANON – David N. McCann, 51, formerly of Peaks Island, died peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 20, 2022, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.

He was born on April 7, 1970 and came to the McCann family as a foster child at 9 months old. He was later adopted by the McCanns.

He is predeceased by his parents Albert and Doreen; and sister, Eileen.

He leaves behind his brothers Albert, Bill and his wife Linda, Terry and his wife Laura, Peter and his wife Patty, his sisters Mary McCann, and Cathy Murphy; and his many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

David was a happy, social person who loved to talk to everyone and introduce himself to every stranger. He was an honorary captain of Casco Bay Lines, a talented dancer who performed in his mother Doreen’s dance school and loved to listen and dance to Michael Jackson and Elvis.

Visiting hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 24, at the Hobbs Funeral Home, 230 Cottage Rd., South Portland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 25, at the Holy Cross Catholic Church, 124 Cottage Rd., South Portland.
