Carol A. Redfern

SCARBOROUGH – Carol A. Redfern, a mother, grandmother, and life-long resident of Maine, died peacefully on Jan. 10, 2022 at the age of 78.

Carol is survived by her husband, Peter L. Redfern; her brother, James Harmon; her son, Peter C. Redfern, her daughter-in-law Carol Redfern; and her grandchildren Adam and McKayla Redfern.

She is predeceased by her parents, James and Arlene Harmon.

Carol was born in Castine on August 1, 1943 to James and Arlene Harmon. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine Orono and worked teaching Gymnastics and Physical Education at Westbrook Junior High School and Falmouth Junior High School. On August 11, 1967, she married her beloved husband Peter L., a merchant marine. On Oct. 3, 1968 she welcomed her son, Peter C. into her life.

Carol was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed home decorating and her incredible talent for interior design was present in the homes of many friends and loved ones. She was an avid reader with a special love for mystery novels. She was the life of any party and could often be found smiling and laughing with anyone lucky enough to be in her company. Carol also loved traveling the world and had many wonderful adventures with her husband Peter L.

In lieu of a funeral service, her ashes will be laid to rest at the Riverside Cemetery in Yarmouth, Maine at her request. Condolences may be sent to 53 Arundel Rd., Raymond, ME 04071.
