Gregory Allen Kennedy

GRAY – Gregory Allen Kennedy, 62, of Gray, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Maine Medical Center on Jan. 14, 2022.

Born on March 10, 1959 to the late Carroll Kennedy and June (Wood) Kennedy of Gray. Greg had a successful professional life as owner of Greg’s Auto Body and Sales in Gray. He had a passion for fixing anything with wheels, especially cars.

Greg was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was happiest when among family, especially the family gatherings at camp. He made spending time with his grandsons a priority. He was a man everyone could count on and was referred to as a “wicked nice guy” by anyone who knew him.

He thoroughly enjoyed riding, whether it be a four-wheeler, motorcycle or snowmobile. Over the years he and his wife, Margie, traveled hundreds of miles on Maine trails and enjoyed a trip out West and one from Nova Scotia to Newfoundland on their motorcycle.

His latest, favorite pastime was cruising Gardner Lake, East Machias in his pontoon boat with Margie and their precious dog, Sophie, oftentimes with family and friends. Being at camp was a huge part of his life; he loved sharing fond memories of hunting, fishing and riding there.

Greg is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Marjorie (Gokey) Kennedy; stepdaughter, Lynn Huggins, stepson, Jeffrey Hanscom, daughter-in-law Ernesta Kennedy. He is survived by seven grandchildren, Cameron Hanscom, Dylan Maxson, Ciara Huggins, Savannah Huggins, Tyler Kennedy, Charles Kennedy, Andrew Kennedy. Greg will be sorely missed by his brother, Wayne Kennedy and wife Laurie Kennedy, sister, Jane (Kennedy) Wood and husband Owen Wood; his nephews and nieces. He also leaves behind many friends who loved him very much.

Predeceased by his parents, Carroll Kennedy and June (Wood) Kennedy and his beloved son, Joshua Kennedy.

A celebration of life will be planned for a later date.
