PORTER – Sandra (Tondreau) Francoeur Trueworthy, 82, of Porter, died on Jan. 24, 2022, at Maine Medical Center.

Sandra was born on Jan. 31, 1939, the daughter of Andrew and Florida (Arsenault) Tondreau. She was raised in Westbrook and attended St. Hyacinth’s Parochial School, St. Joseph’s Academy, Westbrook High School, and a graduate of Southern Maine School of Practical Nursing in South Portland.

Sandra was employed at Westbrook Community Hospital and the offices of Raymond LeBel DMD and Richard Lemieux MD. She later retired from Saunders Brothers in Westbrook as the company nurse. Sandra took great pride in caring for her fellow employees and always remembered her many friends through the years.

She was one of the original founders of the Westbrook Rescue Unit where she volunteered many hours. She loved vacationing, especially her many cruises to the Caribbean, and Hawaii. She also enjoyed camping in their fifth wheel camper at Wassamki Springs and The Bluffs.

Sandra was predeceased by her parents; her stepson, Danny Trueworthy, and her son-in-law, Rodney Howard.

She is survived by her husband Ken, they were married for 42 years. She has four daughters, Linda Howard of Steep Falls, Patricia Ames and husband, Scott of Minot, Debra Cary and husband Reggie of Buxton, Karen Profenno and husband Kris of Lewiston, three sons, Jim Francoeur and wife Naja of Florida. David Francoeur and wife Tammy of Portland and Peter Francoeur of Baldwin, two stepchildren, Darin Trueworthy of Cornish and Amy Davis of Pittston; 21 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, Jan. 28 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Poitras, Neal and York Funeral Home, 71 Maple St. in Cornish. Burial will be in the spring at Stanley Cemetery in South Hiram.
