Steven L. Ridlon

LEWISTON – Steven L. Ridlon, 78, a resident of Wales passed away Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2022, at CMMC.

He was born Dec. 6, 1943, in Portland, the son of Russell Ridlon and Marjorie (Sellick) Ridlon. He was educated in the South Portland schools and graduated from South Portland High School.

Steven proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, as a crew chief on helicopters and received the Bronze Star.

On Oct. 15, 1966, in South Portland, he married Linda Meserve, his childhood sweetheart.

Steve was employed as a manager for Shaw’s in Augusta, Lewiston, and Auburn. After retiring he and his wife became the owner/operators of the Oak Hill Cash Market in Sabattus. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time in his woodworking shop.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Linda Ridlon of Wales; two sons, Andrew Ridlon and wife Tracy of Sabattus, Shawn Ridlon and wife Sally of Greene, a daughter, April Ridlon of Lewiston; six grandchildren; two sisters, Nancy Jardine and husband Blaine of Cape Elizabeth, Carol Wilson of Buxton, a brother, David Ridlon and wife Adele of Standish; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents.

A private service and interment will be held at the Maine Veterans’ Cemetery, Augusta. Arrangements by BRAGDON-FINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 707 Main St., Monmouth.
