Kathleen M. Dunn

PORTLAND – Kathleen M. Dunn, 89, of Westbrook, died Monday Jan. 31, 2022 in Portland.

She was born in Portland May 3, 1932 the daughter of Frank J. D’Amico and Frances (Haggert) Walton.

Kathleen graduated from Portland High School with the class of 1950, where she was a dedicated member of the majorette squad. It was at this time she held a position at Woolworths’ for her finger painting skills, although none of her art was ever sold. From high school she fell in love and married Ellis Dunn. Being divorced after many years, they continued to be the best of friends throughout their lives.

Kathleen loved the music, to dance, and the company of good friends, which were in no short supply. There was always an extra spot in Katie’s Kitchen for whoever popped in! She spent much of her life in Maine, and very much enjoyed the tides in Casco Bay along with the mountains of Rangeley. She lived alone until she left us; as Frank Sinatra sang “I did it my way”. She did and will be greatly missed by many. Rest in Peace Mom

Ms. Dunn was predeceased by her brothers Frank and Mike D’Amico; and her granddaughter, Sarah K. Vandegraaf.

Kathleen is survived by her daughters Colleen Vandegraaf and Kathleen Eaton; her grandchildren Carley Toderico and Teunis Vandegraaf; and her great-grandchildren Reece Vandegraaf Green, Chloie Vandegraaf and Carter Alvarado.

Prayers will be recited at the Conroy-Tully Walker Funeral Home, 172 State St., Portland, Tuesday Feb. 8 at 9:15 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, 72 Federal St., Portland on Tuesday Feb. 8 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Brooklawn Memorial Park.
