Biddeford hosted the 10th annual WinterFest over the weekend. The event, which began with an adults-only sledding party on Adams Street on Friday night, continued Saturday with more sledding for the kids, yard games, dance and martial arts performances, hot chocolate and s’mores.

“It’s really good, especially since people haven’t been able to go to stuff. It’s nice to see people gather safely,” said Delilah Poupore, director at Heart of Biddeford, who expected the final tally to exceed 500 people, a new record for the event.

Handmade mittens, hats and scarves, provided by New Life Church, were given out to those in need, and APEX Youth Connection provided winter coats, hats and mittens as well. Thirty bikes donated by Walmart were distributed to children through a free raffle on Saturday.

The celebration continues through Sunday with ice skating at West Brook Skating Rink.
