Denis Edward Nadeau, a native of Biddeford and resident of Sanford, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022. He was 74.

Denis attended St. Joseph’s School and Biddeford High School. He graduated from St. Anthony’s High School at the Franciscan Monastery in Kennebunk and went on to attend Keene State College and the University of Southern Maine. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Bowley Builders in Kennebunk.

He played basketball and was on the wrestling team in school. He enjoyed playing chess, collecting vinyl records, and going to flea markets and yard sales. He would help any neighbor who needed assistance with carpentry projects.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Eileen (Center) Nadeau. He is survived by: his partner Judith Spiller Walley; his sister Jane Peterson and husband Thomas; Judy’s children – Jennifer Boyd and husband James, and Meredith VanSteemburg and husband Robert; Judy’s grandchildren – Emily Boyd Hargis and Mitchell Boyd; his nephews – James Peterson and wife Christina, Kevin Peterson and wife Susan, and Michael Peterson; his grand-nieces – Alice, Claudia, and Isabelle Peterson; and numerous cousins.
