A request to the Gorham Planning Board for a pre-application discussion about developing the historic Bennett Farm property was withdrawn, according to Chairperson Molly Butler Bailey.
No further information about the withdrawal was available Wednesday.
Developer Les Wilson & Sons Inc. of Westbrook made the request to discuss plans for a 33-acre sand pit and 14 house lots on a 61-acre site at the former Fort Hill Road dairy farm. The property includes a historic farmhouse built in 1769 and several barns.
A spokesperson at Wilson & Sons said Chris Wilson was on vacation.
Gorham Community Development Director Tom Poirier could not be reached for comment by the American Journal’s deadline Wednesday.
The discussion was originally scheduled for Feb. 7 but was postponed to Feb. 14 because of inclement weather.
At Monday’s meeting, the board heard Gorham Solar/Revision Energy’s plans for a 10-acre solar farm at 96 Huston Road.
Nate Niles, director of development at Revision Energy, said the company has an agreement with Central Maine Power and will supply energy directly into its grid.
The project is proposed for a 93-acre cattle pasture with open field, stream tributaries, wetland, floodplain and canopy trees. Niles said Revision is in the process of a flood study.
The company will work on a visual buffering plan for neighbors, he said.
A site walk will be scheduled for Planning Board members, Poirier said.
