Arts & Cultural Alliance of Freeport – the nonprofit founded in 2015 to support artists, arts and culture in greater Freeport – is now using the name Meetinghouse Arts for all its operations, including events at the gallery and performance venue at First Parish Church at 40 Main St. Marking the name change is a new logo, designed by Mali Welch of All Over It Maine.

Recognition

New England Cancer Specialists is now certified through the Association for Clinical Oncology’s Patient-Centered Cancer Care Certification pilot, based on its adherence to 17 care delivery standards and 22 chemotherapy safety standards.

University of Maine Cooperative Extension 4-H received two national awards for excellence in programming and research and evaluation from the National Association of Extension 4-H Youth Development Professionals for 4-H Passport Around the World. The virtual special interest club connects Maine teens with teens from across the globe to foster relationships and interest in a variety of cultures.

Granted

Brunswick-based Maine Paws for Veterans has received a $15,000 grant from the Disabled Veterans National Foundation for the Psychiatric Service Dog Program so veterans can be taught how to train their own service dogs.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Maine will use a $30,000 grant from UScellular to support K-12 science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and academic enrichment programs.

Thomas Neilson, a senior geologist, and Peter Mohlin, an environmental compliance specialist, have joined Sevee & Maher Engineers, a Cumberland-based civil and environmental engineering consulting firm.

Edwin T. Graham is the new CEO of New England Cancer Specialists, an oncology practice based in Scarborough.
