ARUNDEL – The town is advertising for a new town clerk, and is accepting applications through Aug. 31.

Emily Nedeau, who has served in the position for the past six years, is moving on. She has accepted a part-time post at an area school system. While announcing the vacancy, Town Administrator Keith Trefethen said Nedeau will be missed.

In Arundel, the town clerk is part of the municipal management team and oversees day-to-day operations in the office, that deals with such items as vehicle registrations, collection of fees and taxes, managing elections, keeping municipal records and minutes.

The work week for Arundel  municipal office employees is 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

Nedeau said she will miss the job, but was looking for a part-time position that afforded more flexibility. “I’ve been treated so well here, and I live here in Arundel,” she said. She has offered to help with elections. Nedeau’s last day at Arundel Municipal Building was expected to be Aug. 11.
