SCARBOROUGH – Carolyn E. Calden passed away peacefully after a short illness, with her children by her side on Aug. 12, 2022.

She was born on June 23, 1943, in Portland, Maine, to Ronald L. and Martha A. Calden. Carolyn was one of two children.

Carolyn was predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her daughters, Annemarie Griffin and her husband Richard, of Scarborough, Maine, and Lisa J. Compagna and her husband Peter of Brunswick, Maine; her sister, Joanne Chapman of Scarborough, Maine; a niece; and several nephews. Carolyn is also survived by her former husband and lifelong friend, Louis Discatio; her lifelong friend, Cretia (Nappi) O’Reilly; and so many other great and true friends she met along the way.

There are no words to summarize the impact Carolyn has had on all of our lives. Her kind heart and sweet smile will be very sadly missed.

The family would like to thank the staff at Scarborough Terrace, and Amanda B. at Compassus Hospice, Scarborough, Maine for the incredible love and care they provided Carolyn.

A visiting hour will be held on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2022, from 10:30-11:30 a.m., at the Conroy-Tully Walker South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland. A prayer service will immediately follow at 11:30 a.m., in the chapel. A private burial will be held at a later date.
