Carol Ann Ezzy

WESTBROOK – Carol Ann Ezzy, 80, passed away on the morning of Oct. 7, 2022 after a brief unexpected illness.

Carol was born on Feb. 1, 1942 to Luella and Maron Ezzy in Van Buren. She was the sixth of 13 children born to the couple.

She graduated from Washington Academy in East Machias and held various jobs until settling at Marshall’s Retail in Bedford and Waltham, Mass. It was there Carol found her work family and made many wonderful and lifelong friends. She retired after 38 years and maintained several of those close relationships until she passed.

Carol stayed busy during her retirement visiting her old friends and making new ones, enjoying her time with them and her family. She was the favorite, fun loving aunt and all her many nieces and nephews could always count on Carol to play and laugh with them. She loved playing games, especially Yahtzee, but also enjoyed Bingo, card games, and an occasional trip to the casino to play slots. Her infectious laugh and sweet smile were central at family gatherings, her loss will leave an immeasurable void in all our lives. She was truly the best of us.

Carol loved animals, especially cats, and wherever she went it was clear they were drawn to her gentle nature. A black cat named Dino was especially dear to her and she was heartbroken by his loss.

Carol was predeceased by her parents Luella and Maron; brother, Maron, sisters Kathy, Monica and Gail.

She is survived by her brother, Greg and his wife, Diane, brothers Lou and Mike, sisters Jackie, Patricia, Pamela, Marion and Tammy; along with many nieces, nephews. The list of peoples lives Carol has touched and brightened is long and spans her lifetime; special friends Carol and Frank, Rosemarie and Raymond, Kitty, Laura, Barbara and Brenda.

Carol is best described as forever young at heart. We will always remember her so.

If friends or family desire a memorial contribution can be made in Carol’s name to the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House 390 US-1, Scarborough, Maine 04074”
