William B. Jordan

PORTLAND – William B. Jordan, 70, passed away Oct. 6, 2022, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, following a stroke.

Bill was born on June 6, 1952 in Augusta, to Brenda (Fuller) Jordan and William R. Jordan. He graduated from Cony High School in 1970 and continued his education at UMaine Orono where he served as the drum major of the marching band. In addition, he attended the University of Maine School of Law, graduating with a Juris Doctorate degree in 1977. He worked as an attorney his entire career, and was currently working part time at Korde & Associates, P.C. in South Portland.

Always active in community service, he served as umpire, board member, and president of North Deering Little League, as well as board member and president of SARS (Sexual Assault Response Services). He also donated many gallons of blood to the Red Cross over the years.

Much of his success in life came from his intelligence and great sense of humor. He was also a very kind, fair, and understanding person. Bill and Carol were college sweethearts and had many happy years of love, laughter, and fun together. They enjoyed traveling, listening to music, doing artwork, and boating on Casco Bay with good friends. Bill also enjoyed golfing and tennis, and was an avid reader. But his greatest joy was raising their two daughters, Mira and Julia. Bill loved them both dearly, and was very proud of the lovely young women they had become.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Carol (Morelli) Jordan; his daughters Mira Jordan of Los Angeles, Calif., Juliana Jordan of Citra, Fla.; sister, Mary Leighton and husband, Dana, of Cumberland, brother, Tom Jordan and wife, Letty, of San Antonio, Texas; “bonus” sisters Andria Moore of Portland, Kathy Tracy Killian and husband, Merrill Harlan of Jonesport; brother-in-law, Tom Morelli and wife, Karen, of Brewer, brother-in-law James Morelli of Framingham, Mass.; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to celebrate Bill’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29 at the Conroy-Tully Walker South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland. A reception will follow immediately afterward at the funeral home. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
