Stanley R. Currie “Tab”

PORTLAND – Tab passed away suddenly on Oct. 6, 2022 at Maine Medical Center in Portland at the age of 66.

Born in New Jersey on May 3, 1956 and graduated from Cranford High School in 1974. He attended St. Lawrence University earning a degree in psychology in 1978.

That same year, moved to Maine and met his wife Mellory. They married in 1981. He spent a majority of his career as a project manager at Anthem, retiring in 2019.

Tall in stature, high in integrity, Tab was an extraordinary human. Remarkably humble with unwavering optimism, even among the most challenging health obstacles. As a lifelong athlete, his favorites included: basketball, tennis, Aikido and bicycling. Other areas of interest were music, photography and bird watching.

A loving, supportive and dedicated man, he was most proud of his family. Spending time with Mellory, his two children, Alex and Amy and new grandson, Maximus was always his highest priority.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Mellory; his brother, Michael (partner Leslie); his son, Alex (fiancé Crystal); his grandson Maximus; and his daughter, Amy (partner Kyle).

Tab will be loved always and forever missed. His sunshine will never be replicated but eternally cherished.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at http://www.jonesrichandbarnes.com for the Currie family.
