Mark Boucher

BIDDEFORD — On September 25, 2022, Mark Boucher of The Villages, FL passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family.

Mark was born April 15, 1952, the son of Roland and Antoinette (Perrault) Boucher.  He grew up in Biddeford and was very proud to be part of the last graduating class of St. Louis High School. He often sang, “When the Saints Come Marching In,” to his daughters.

Mark starting working at Maremont in Saco at age 19 and continued working there as an engineer for 44 years as it became Saco Defense and then General Dynamics. He loved sports and spent his time umpiring softball games and playing in a volleyball league. He also loved music and played the clarinet and guitar to his daughters when they were young.

Later in life, Mark found a love of dancing. He took ballroom dance lessons and loved to show off his skills at weddings. When he retired to The Villages, his favorite thing to do was go dancing to the live music every night in the square. He also discovered pickleball and spent many mornings on the court with friends.

Mark is predeceased by his parents; his sister Claire Desrosier; nephew “Little” Guy Boucher; and his “Ma Tante” Anita Underwood Berard.

He is survived by his fiancée Terri De Matteo of The Villages, FL; his daughters Brenda Furman and her husband Andrew of Windham, ME and Angela McCarthy and her husband Kevin of Westbrook, ME; siblings Rolande Campbell and husband Bob of Millbury, MA, Guy Boucher and wife Phyllis of Scarborough, ME, brother-in-law Doug Desrosier and wife Diane of The Villages, FL, Ann Delcourt and husband Norman of Biddeford, ME, and Celeste Boucher of Biddeford, ME; as well as many nieces and nephews and countless friends.

A celebration of life will be held at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St, Biddeford, ME on October 28 from 10:00 am -1:00 pm, The will be a funeral outside of mass at Hope Memorial Chapel at 1:00 pm followed by burial at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, and a reception at the Elks in Saco.

Mark loved to tell jokes and always had a smile on his face.  He was a friend to many and someone who would always help a person in need. He will be greatly missed.
