Sally Anne (Brown) Given
SOUTH PORTLAND – Sally Given passed away at the age of 87 on Oct. 21, 2022 in the company of loved ones.
Sally was born Feb. 9, 1935, in Portland, to Gladys and Eben Brown. She grew up in South Portland and Cape Elizabeth. After high school she attended Westbrook Junior College and became an x-ray technician.
In 1956 she met the love of her life, Richard D. Given. They married and eventually settled in South Portland, where they raised their three children. When her children were older Sally worked at the South Portland Nursing Home as an LSW.
Sally was an avid reader, artist/crafter and homemaker. Her primary joy in life was being with her family. She and Dick had a long and wonderful life together, filled with family, friends and travel.
She is survived by her sister, Pamela; her children Shelley Breton, Dana Given and Jennifer Savoie; her grandchildren Abbie, Jared, Seth, Caleigh, Renee, Nicole and Ellie; and her great-grandsons Jackson and Oliver.
She was predeceased by her husband, Richard; her daughter, Carrie Ann and her son-in-law, Paul Savoie.
There will be a private graveside service at Oak Grove Cemetery in Bath, and next summer there will be a celebration of life for family and friends at their family place on Moosehead Lake.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Northern Light Hospice
in South Portland.
