Nancy Lee Kelley

OLD ORCHARD BEACH – Nancy Lee Kelley, 74, passed away at Southern Maine Health Care on Nov. 4, 2022. She was born in Providence, R.I. on Dec. 7, 1947, the daughter of Mathew and Dorothy Susel Marks. Nancy was a proud graduate of Pawtucket West High School, Pawtucket, R.I.

Nancy was involved in many organizations including the Rotary Club of Saco Bay, Gold Star Mothers of America, American Legion Post 57 Auxiliary, and the VFW #7997 of Old Orchard Beach. Nancy was instrumental in creating the Christopher Scott Cash Memorial Scholarship Fund in honor or her son who was killed in the line of duty during Operation Iraqi Freedom. All proceeds benefit graduating seniors who are going on to further their education. The “Run For Cash” Memorial 5K and Family Race Day takes place each summer with hundreds of runners, walkers and children participating.

Most recently, Nancy worked at Len Libby Chocolates in Scarborough, where she was such a delight to the customers. Always a smile on her face!

Nancy was predeceased by her son, Capt. Christopher Cash.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Kelley, they were happily married for 46 years; daughters Jodie Olivo of North Providence, R.I. and husband Stephen, and Stacey Stine of Hollywood, Fla. and husband Barry; a sister, Rhoda Allard; four grandchildren, Jennifer Catanzaro, Christopher Cash, Rebecca Olivo, Mathew Cash; and three great-grandchildren, Christopher Cash, John Cash and Steven Catanzaro.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Salvation Army Corp, 2 Sixth St., Old Orchard Beach at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19 with Major Dan Brunelle presiding, reception to follow
